Tach Rebuild
I have a 68 SS 396 Camaro fully restored and now all the sudden the tach stopped working. I have checked the wiring to it and it all correct and in place. if anyone knows or has any info of a reputable resto shop that rebuilds the tachs it would be appreciated.

For the price and trouble that you will have to pay restoring the original Tic-Toc, you may want to consider replacing it. There are several vendors that offer new Tic-Tocs. I replced mine as the clock stopped working. The new replacement unit I got was identical in evry detail to my original. Let me know if you want me to recommend the supplier I used.

Sorry. Maybe I was not very clear. The clock in my original Tic-Toc DID NOT work. That's why I replaced the unit.
You put a new unit in your car and it didn't work?..<odd>
Dumb question, did you hook the orange power wire to the terminal on the instrument cluster? It is needed to operate the clock. (Clock does not use the power feed from the main harness. It uses the same circuit that the lighter uses).

yeah i did. i didnt expect it to work. most of the old chevys in the family with clocks in them dont work or work when they feel like it. My grandparents have a 55 chevy 2dr hrdt top they have had for over 40 years but the clock never worked in it untill one day when i got to drive it. it worked for the whole day then quit again.
