lol i went to start her up after about 6 month being in the body shop and lol the tach is shi! lol its all the way on the opposite side lol it doesnt even read anymore GOSH lol just figure u would wanna know

 

Hey me too, i wonder what's wrong. I'll disasemble the dash today and see if something's up.

 

check the wires going to your distributor, its reads off of that and if its not connected, it may be off in some way.

 

I didin't take the dash out today, didin't have the right tools. Gonna borrow the right thingy from a friend and take the dash out. I noticed it moves SOMEWHAT when i start the car. Distributor? I got that changed like 2 weeks ago, and it didin't change the fact that the RPM dosen't work. I'll look if i can see something suspicious tomorrow.

 

yes, the tach gets its numbers from the distributor. Thats what those wires are all about comming off it. among other things, it tells you just what kinda RPM's your runnin

Gaah took the dash apart today, got to the gauges. Didin't even get to see the back of the gauges, i managed to undo those f*cking little silver screws even if i didin't have the correct size ratchet. I checked what seems to be the distributor cable, and frankly i can't see what's wrong. I would think that when the garage replaced my dist, they put the tach cable back on too. Confusing. I think the problem's with the tachyometer.

 

wow sounds like u had no fun! still keep me updated untill the end and if u got it workin cuz from the sound of it its going to be the last of MY worries on the car ! .. ill do it old skool like u should ....listen to the engine ...before they made POS tachs!
