Suspension questions

One member stated that I may be in need of some suspension upgrades. Without alot of prior mechanical ability, even after 30+ years owning the Maro, I would like some comments or recommendations for the suspension. The leaf springs are original, maybe replacement would help. Is there any advantage to multi leaf springs as I have single springs now. Also, I do have a slight wobble or scimmy while driving at 35 mph. The car has not had front end work done except for ball joints and a pitman arm replaced, as well as new tires. I have recently changed the shock absorbers. The car has about 160,000 miles on it. If a total front end rebuild is your suggestion, please inform me what would be typical in terms of costs. I have posted some pics in the photo gallery. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated and will reply to all.

singleleaf rear springs are more for drag racing than the street. a car that old would definitely benefit from new springs on all 4 corners. it would also be a good idea to do afront end re-build and the kits go for about $250.

Thanks for the comments, my understanding when replacing coil springs is to be very careful. Is this a job a backyard mechanic like myself should attempt or let the professional doit? Same question for the leaf springs...

rear springs are incredibly easy, just make sure you also buy new rubber mounting pads for the rearend
the front springs you need to be a little more careful with. you should get a spring compressor, although I never use one, because if you're not careful you can really get hurt when they unload

about 3 years ago I was lowering my buddies car and i wasnt using a compressor (usually put a jack underneath to hold the compression then let the jack down) but this day I was going to let it pop. I didnt realize my finger was under the spring where I was popping it out and and when it popped yep sure enough it snapped my pinky finger like a twig between the spring and lower suspension. damn that hurt
