Default Steering Column Rebuild

Hope some can help. I have looked all over and can not find these parts for my 68 steering column. See diagram and pics since I would have a hard time describing them.

You may have to buy the whole column, they are available but not cheap.

Thanks Y2k... that's hard to swallow, but I may have to. I'm determined to keep original and trying to talk my way into it. The plastic tolerance ring kit is actually not broken and is in decent condition. I only wanted to replace it since its old plastic and just to have a new one. The plastic is a softer material and not hard and brittle, so I will clean up the original. The rubber seems to be at type dampener that keeps the tube assembly and the jacket from rattling together. If I get the thickness correct, I could get some sticky back rubber or tarpaper material and wrap the tube. I think a strip of the interior sound dampening pads will work, yes? The only hard part is the ring. The ring seems to center the tube assembly inside the jacket. I need to clean up the ring and see the extent of the rust. There's got to be a match somewhere for size and thickness and hope I can find at a hardware store.

Yeah... looked at the Nova, Chevelle, Firebird and Impala and other misc generic GM parts. I just can't find any schematic, manual or any other GM manual that have these parts shown. My Camaro is an early model 68 built in December of 67, so not sure if that has anything todo with it. There are some other misc items that are different on my car that I have already resolved, but I just can seem to pin this down.

I have everything else I need; bearings, springs and other plastic sleeves. It's just those items I can find.

Why would the detail I attached to my first post mention #22 Tolerance Ring Kit as "not correct". What does that mean and why does my column have it?

I've given up on that plastic wrap that goes around the mesh part on the jacket. I'll have to repair the original.

The bearings you could try to match up bygoing to places like Brown Bearing ,And with all the car shows you can look at the other cars and compare.Maybe even check Hemmings Motor News catalogue for references

Thanks... I already have the bearings, springs and other plastic bushings. Those I was able to find as part of the rebuild kits.

Its just those couple items; rubber dampener, plastic tolerance ring and the metal ring.
Strang, because all the pics I find on line of a floor shift non-tilt steering column has that stupid tolerance ring on it. I found this random pic on line. I point out to the tolerance ring at the bottom on the shaft, the metal ring and rubber on the shift tube and the plastic wrap in the background. Anyway... now I just complaining.
