Default SS grill emblem

I ordered this emblem off ebay and the stud things were too short and didnt make it all the way through my grill for the back plate to slide on:

I tried everything, tried to weld a longer stud on but the studs just melted as they are made of pop metal. I decided to use the emblem for my center console that is getting custom fabricated and just buy a new one.

Can anyone tell me what kind of grill I have and what emblem will fit it?

That looks like an aftermarket (not original style) backing plate, not positive for the SS emblem though? But the backing plate for the center bowtie emblem raises up and sort of wraps around the inside of the grille. Something of that style may have worked for you.

definitely looks like an aftermarket piece. just from what the studs look like and the backing plate. usually if reputable people are selling OEM stuff on Ebay, they know what it is from, and they will usually show it sitting on top of a GM box or something. did it at least come in a GM box?

if you don't know enough about the parts your buying on Ebay, it's a crapshoot at best
