Default sbc head#3947041

hello all,i have just came across a 307 sbc today tought it was worthless untill i pulled the valve covers.it has a set of #3947041 cylinder heads dates of J-18-8 and J-21-8 could these be early 1969 302 heads?anyone with info i would appreciate it.

with those casting #s, it is just a head that they used on 302s and 350s. it's got a 64cc chamber and is good for higher horsepower applications. they are probably from either 69 or 70

the block is still a pice of crap though[sm=smiley9.gif]

What is the block casting number. Could be a 327 block. Sometimes you could find some dode re-doing a vette and wants it.

I looked it up. I came from a truck, good hp head. 1969ss's info apllies too.

the block #3970020 stamping is v1129tcx,i believe it is a 1973 2bbl 307 out of a truck.

so this was a good score for 100.00??it has a edelbrock torker manifold,chrome valve covers,oil pan and timing cover.some fancy billet pcv valve and dipsick.

any smallblockset-up is worth a hundred bucks. even if you use the block as a boat anchor you did ok

You did ok. I would try and sell it and get something bigger though.
