1968 Big Block swap TH350 Tranny
Hi guys!
I started my big block swap on my 68 and I was told by a buddy of mine that my stock small block transmission cross member will not work on my swap because after changing my motor frame mounts to big block style mounts the motor will move 1/2 toward the passenger side and about 3/8 forward. He said that a friend of his told him that a big block 67-69 manual transmission cross member also works with the TH350 transmission and big block setup. Can anyone shed some light on this for me... I appreciate any advice!

Hello, I have the TH350 Tranny. I been told since the car was an original small block the factory crossmember that I have wont work. That I had to get a big block crossmember for a 4 sp manual and that one will still fit my TH350. Is that correct? The big block manual transs crossmember will match the new engine alignment that is supposed to be different with the new frame to engine mount and will allow me to use my TH350 tranny.

I did a big block swap on a '69 many years ago so my memory is not too fresh and it was a 4 speed car not auto but as near as I can recall the only thing besides exhaust I swapped to make it fit was the motor mounts. Seems like maybe there were a couple different sets of mounting holes in the frame for the cross member and maybe we moved it back a little but I don't remember for sure. It was 40 years ago and I have CRS in my old age. lol
I think the short shaft T-350 and 4 speed are the same length, there are long and short shaft T-350s so you need to know what you have first.
