Reassemble 69 Camaro
Hey Guys,
Can anyone give me some advice on where to start and what steps to take in putting my 69 Camaro back together from a frame off restoration?
I would appreciate any advice on getting started.
Thank you,
Ej69

get a shop assemble manual and go to town reading that. I would go the route of getting all the suspension done first and dropping the motor in while the nose is off because that will be a lot easier.
study assembly manual, watch lots of youtube videos... learn from others mistakes. and most importantly.... take your time, dont get in a rush. having to go back and do things twice sucks.
Get your self a AIM "assembly instruction manual". Start with the rolling chassis. They say when the chassis is complete, you may be half done. Pretty straight forward, since there is no wiring and most parts are logical fits. Suggest you test fit the drive train and exhaust system. Do brake lines, etc.
I 2x all the above. Read, ask questions and get on Youtube.
For starters get the "1969 Camaro factory Assembly Instruction Manual" (green & white paper back) and get a good understanding of how to read the manual. It's the complete assembly of the entire Camaro, though it's not the assembly line build order from start to finish, it is detailed of every nut, bolt, washer and factory part used. But the general assembly "order" is simple assuming your also starting off with a complete ready to go chassis on a rolling dolling or jack-stands.
Install all/most wiring, brakes and fuel lines. Work under the dash panel installing steering, petals, a/c (if required) vents/ducts ect. Slide your new subframe in and mount. Drop in motor/trans and button down. Do as much as you can without the front nose on then install the nose (fenders, grille, lights..blah..blah..ect). Install rest of the drive-line (shaft and rear susp) then finish off with the interior, seats, carpet ..ect. Install glass at any point but most generally early in the beginning.
Like above..most important, Take your time and do it right the first time. If your baffled, walk away and ask questions. There are many on here with years of experience and knowledge and most have already been down the same road as your about to take.
Enjoy and make it fun !
