Rear Leaf Issue
My 67 has a broken rear passenger leaf and I was looking at new ones and I am finding that the mono leaf is much cheaper than the 5 leaf. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the two or at least the purpose for the 5 leaf? Any info would be great, Im still getting info on camaros. Thanks

Multi leaf springs are safer than mono. It doesn't happen too often, but if a mono spring breaks, depending on where it breaks, you could lose control of the car. The design of a multi leaf has the spring above being supported by the spring below, and so on. If one of the leafs should break, you stand a better chance than not of the pack holding the springs together and keeping control of the car.

I just have the original 210hp 327. Probably leave it that way for a while since I need to do a lot of other things to it, like front suspension, interior, etc. But the driver side spring is still okay and intact but Im needing a passenger side. So i should probably get two new mono leafs and put them in. They are just more expensive than multi so thats why I asked.

Drive out to WA state and you can have my stock mono's for nothing, lol. I put the 5 leaf in during my clone SS conversion. Plus it moved the rear of the car up just a tad and now I have a nice stance front to back.

Yes I did, I got it from Biscays Classic chevy in WA state
Biscay's Classic Chevy
I think Ricks Camaro has them too.
I believe I bought the leafs then I bought a mono to multi-leaf conversion kit.
Came with u-bolts, nuts, spacer blocks. Then I bought new shackles and leaf bushings.
