Unhappy Rear Frame rail removal

Hey, Just found out I have to replace driver side rear frame rail. Whats the best methed for removal. Is there a special drill bit or something to go thru the spot welds without making a thousand holes in the floor.

Congrats! Hope the new one goes in as easy as the old one comes out. As common as frame rail replacement is I'm suprised no one had advice for you. Post up some pics I'd really like to see how you do it.

Default Spot weld cutting bit

A spot weld cutting bit one piece, matco, snap on or a good paint supply shop. Thanks Scotty62

Mine were/are solid as a rock. One thing we didn't have to replace was any of the subframe.

I just cut several hundred spot welds on a 68 camaro complete floor with rails attached, quarter panels, rockers, dash etc, a spot weld cutting bit cuts the first layer of metal leaving your welding surface in great condition. Check it out on scottarnoldrestoration.com I hope I can help you out. Thanks Scotty62
