Real RS??

RE: Real RS??
You have a 68 V8 coupe. Built during the 4th week of April in Norwood, Ohio. 122315th to roll off the line. 712 = Black standard bucket seats. R2 = Matador red (exterior color) with a black vinyl top. Without someone who knows what to look for actually looking at it the only other info you can get would be off the build sheet, I can tell by the pictures that the usual places for the sheet have already been gone over IE; top of gas tank, under rear seat or in the trunk body compartment.
You most definately have your work cut out for you. Good luck! And keep us posted.

RE: Real RS??
Yea its a big project but what the hell. I was thinking of doing this for my son. I have another project that I am working on now and hope to have that road worthy soon and he likes helping me with that. My son loves cars like his father and he's 12 going on 13. So I was thinking of working on this with him for when he gets his license but not as his daily driver, more like a limited driver until I think he would be responsible enough to drive it.
Anyway I was looking it over and just about all the sheet metal needs to be replaced. But I have plenty of time to work on it.
Would there be any other way to find out if this is an RS?

RE: Real RS??
well the car dont have the reverse lights under the bumper and it looks like original sheet matal so i doubt someone replaced it with the wrong panel(like mine was,but my wires were still in the spot for hook up)...so id take out the headlight switch and look for vacuum lines hooked to it,if not im guessing its a basic camaro..at least it did come with a v8 or the tag would say 1233,instead of 1243..
