Questions about my new car.
Hey guys, few items as I am learning the car. It's a 67 RS SS and I am hoping you can help me with it.
1. How do I turn on the headlights? When I pull the switch only tails and front lower bumper lights come on. The covers don't slide and headlights do not turn on. Could it be a relay?
2. Passenger side lap belt is not attached to the floor and the attachment point is missing like on the driver's side. Can I attach it to the bottom bracket of the seat?
3. My wife can't press the pedals all the way down. Is there a solution to mount the seat differently?
4. What is a normal operating temperature of the engine? It seems like the temperature climbs pretty fast past 200 if I let the car idle.
Thank you for all your help.

Headlight doors should open when switch is pulled.
Could be relay on drvr fender or limit switch out of adjustment.
Ign switch needs to be on for closing when switch pushed in.
There is a schematioc around for the door power.
Seat belt attachment for outer belt half is part of rocker panel.
Search pictures in getting an odea where at, use a needle to poke through carpet to find them.
No forward seat movement, might add blocks to pedals?
If thermostat is 195°F, then operating temp is good, fully open at 205°
Starts to open at stamped temperature.

I read that you can unbolt the seats and use a different hole on the rails to move them up. Is that true?
Thank you for your help.

If I remember correctly, the relays only control the operation of the head light doors. Basically, the relays are used to reverse the polarity of the headlight door motors to facilitate opening and closing. I believe the headlights should come on even if the doors don't open. Check things that the two have in common like the light switch, the dimmer switch, grounds at the headlights etc. The dimmer switch controls the high and low beams, but also provides a path to ground for the coils of the headlight door relays.
