Please help! Ls1 conversion, motor mount issues
I'm trying to install an ls1 into my 68 and things just aren't clearing. Im using Energy Suspension mounts and the Holley 302-1 oil pan, but the pan is hitting the crossmember. It appears that I need the engine to come up another inch or so.
I thought about pulling the 3 bolts out that hold the mounts to the frame and building some sort of spacer underneath that but since they sit at an angle I just keep thinking that things won't line up. I think my whole issue is the 302 -1 oil pan, which I already own and have mounted to the engine. I'm hoping to find another way of making this work instead of buying a new $360 pan.

Sorry no tricks to this that I know. If you raise the engine you will change the angle which will just mean you need to change the pinion angle in the rear. You can modify your exiting pan or buy another. What way is best for you will depend on you budget and skill at fabricating.
Have you looked at any of the stock pans out there like off the Vett or GTO?
