Default Painting a 1967 restoration

I would like input from as many as I could...
I am restoring a white 1967 convertible camaro.
I am thinking of painting the car the original color, but am still kicking around the thought of changing the color.
Wondering what the consensus is here in this valued forum.

What color is original? I would say that makes a big difference.

Mine was canary yellow....I hated it.....now its Corvette magnetic red

The car is a standard Camaro
The original color is Ermine white
The convertible top is black

If it is a numbers matching car go with the original color. If it's not then paint it whatever color you want. My opinion is that if it's a convertible with a black top it would look really sharp red. I'm not usually a fan or red cars but ever first gen convertible that I have seen red with black top was beautiful.

If you like it keep it. About 10% of all 67s got that color so its not that rare. My 69 is Azure Turquoise, I liked it and it was rare (about 2%) so I kept it.

my 68 was a factory matador red but i hate that color of red so when i repainted it i went to lemans blue

Really depends on two things; how original you want to keep the car; and how much you like the original white?
I personally think if the color is something you love you should definitely keep it. If you're not that happy with white and you're repainting anyway, why not get it a color you'll always enjoy looking at?

If you're keeping the car and like a different color than white, then paint it what you want. As far as it hurting the value, could be hardly any or not at all. I restored a 69 Vette years ago. The original color was green and I painted it red, an original color. It's also referred to as "resale red" in the Vette world. When I sold the car (in a day), I got top dollar for it, even though it wasn't the "original" color.
