Default oil leak

i have a pretty bad oil leak. it looks like a hard line that comes out of the firewall and strait into the block at the back next to the distributer. i know i had the problem before but cant remember how to fix it. anyone have any tips on fixing this or know what it is so i can stop this from happening again. Thanks

That's the line for a mechanical oil pressure gauge. Clean everything so you can see where the oil is coming out of. If the leak is between the fitting and the line, you'll want to pick up a new compression fitting, cut off the old end of the line, and reinstall the line with the new cap & compression ring. Make sure you have a rubber grommet where the line goes through the firewall, or the metal can saw through the line.

Good advice, You may need to get another line as a 2"-3" diameter loop in the line just above the engine fitting would allow for movement and vibrations from the road, engine, etc.

Thanks,
I bought a new set for it and changed out the nero ring but couldnt get the cap off to change it. I drove it to work and back today and now seems to be clicking randomly with loss of power. im not sure if i put the spark plug connections to the distributor cap on wrong or if this directly relates to the replacement.

Make sure your distributor cap is fully seated on the distributor. You may have knocked (rocked) the cap out of position while reaching back behind there.
