Newbie looking to buy
Hello,
I'm new to the Camaro, but I have had my share of Corvettes and Chevelles. Sold all the toys years ago, but I've decided that I'd like to buy a 67-69 Camaro. All my Corvettes were convertibles, so I'm not really looking for a rag top.
Since I just started my search, can anyone offer some advice on some of the trouble areas with 1st Gen Camaro? What to look for, what to avoid?
Regards,
Brian

Welcome, Brian, to the Club.
First, read here and use it later for reference : www.camaros.org
As this place will show what to look.
If you're buying a 1st Gen for just cruising, any one you pick should be okay.
Camaros' have a pedigree just like the Chevelles' & Corvettes'.
If you're buying a particular model of your choice, beware of fake Trim tags, POP's, models they are not, and non-matching numbers when stated they were.
Lots of fake TT's and they arise when seller says it is a SS, and turns out, it was a base model converted, it is now a clone.
A matching POP - Protect-O-Plate, to the drivetrain numbers is the only bonafide way, but you'll pay for it.
You know the above since Chevelle's & Corvette's have the same.
Look for rusty trunk meaning the rear window leaks,
Same with floorboards as windshield be leaking.
Make a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd choice. It really depends on your budget and what you would like to drive.
I'm sure you'll have questions and don't be afraid to ask.
