Default New To Forum '68 Camaro

Hi guys....first post here. I've recently purchased a restored '68 Camaro with a 540BB. Hopefully I can rely on this forum to learn more my new car . It's my hope & intention to eventually get an auto transmission and upgraded rear end housing down the road.
The car has Wilwood rear brakes but the MC & fronts are stock. For this winter I'd like to buy a billet Wilwood Master Cylinder which I noticed on another BB Camaro. But I am a bit lost on front brake options.

Can someone advise me on what are my Wilwood brake options for the front ?

Sorry..total newbie here and you might appreciate a Ford to Chevy convert to boot !

Tx,
Jam

Welcome to the Forums Jam. So some one has already added Wilwood Discs to the rear? I dont wanna sound stupid but I guess the factory fronts are Discs as well? If you are wanting to change the front rotors and calipers to Wilwood, Depending on what size wheel you are running I would probably start here....

http://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/Bra...rake%20Spindle

hope that helps. after youve had 3 posts, add up some pics of your Camaro, we'd love to see it. Glad to have you here with us.

Welcome aboard!!!.

Don't hear anyone say they want to go to and auto trans anymore. even though if I remember right when these cars were new you had to pay more for the option to upgrade to and auto trans. what's it have now?

Welcome to C.F. Jam
Another option, if you don't want to spend that much on Wilwood, is SSBC.
You can get a 4 piston setup for about 2/3 the price. Shop By Category - Front Brakes - Disc Brake Conversions & Upgrades

Thanks Guys ! yes..the front are stock discs.
I will call Wilwood then look into the SSBC fronts for sure .
Currently I have a nicely rebuilt / reinforced Super T-10 . The clutch is a 1000HP rated feather light dual disc. The motor makes 800HP @ 7000rpm so with any traction the T-10 will not last very long. I did also look into a high HP rated G-Force 4 speed . The G-Force 5 speed manual looked great but would($4800)cost me around $600 more for completed install than a Freddie Brown manual bodied auto speed with a 4th gear OD.

Thanks for the pic posting tip as I was wondering why I was unable to post!

Hey....I am an old Ford convert. I've owned a few Mustangs & Cobra replicas . But never owned a Chevy muscle car. I got this Camaro 7 months ago on a trade for a Cobra. We each drove 7 hours swapped titles and drove home with a new car on our trailers. It seemed crazy at the time but I wanted a change. Now I am a proud Chevy muscle car owner with the magazines in the mailbox !

Let's see if pic posting works now. A guy up this way in NY actually recognized the car as I guess it was on Racing Junk classifieds for quite some time out of KY. The guy said it was different because it had a 4 speed. I hear ya thefley !
