Default New to the Forum. 1969 RS SS

Hey all!

New to the forums here. My Dad and I have a 1969 RSSS. Only thing not stock is the Lingenfelter 383 stroker. Original interior, Never restored.

The reason i stopped by the forums here is we are trying to find some info on the car. It is Painted with #63 Champagne which accounts for .5% of the Camaros in 69. we are trying to find out how many SS models were painted in this Color. Does anyone have a way to find this info?

Thanks all

Nice Camaro, congrats.
You might try GM Heritage Center, or Camaro Research Group

Very nice car! Welcome aboard.
I don't think you'll be able to get an exact number on that but no doubt there were few. The Chevy book I have says there were 178,087 Camaros with a V-8 in '69 and that there were 19,024 of them that were Z28's.
Nothing on SS or RS optioned cars as far as numbers let along paint colors.
The RS option could be had stand alone or in a Z28 or SS car so even that breakdown is near impossible to find out if at all.
Wouldn't it be nice if GM had kept records on everything but they did not.

That is because the information does not exist, Code combination data was never stored by GM. Meaning in 1969 no one at GM could have answered your question.

The car you see in my below sig is a 67 RS/SS ragtop. There is no way to know how many cars like mine where made. As you have found with paint the GM info on how many RS, how many SS and how many rag tops where made is all that exists.

The only real number GM had on combination was like the Pace cars but even that came back to the pace car was a single production code that combined a bunch of other codes.

There are a couple of sites that are trying to register as many all original cars as they can then using statistic to calculate the likely hood of combination but in my opinion the data is skewed by clones. I swear half the current owners who believe they have original cars own very well made clones. Not saying that is your case just saying I have no faith is sites that say they can give you an accurate number.

Very nice looking car, but the side emblem shows it to be only an S model.

Do you have a local Camaro Club near you ? They may be able to help you as well.
