Angry new coil, no spark

help help 67 camaro 94 gm crate motor 350, temporary spectra gm10 points distributor, mallory unilite electronic on the way. o.k., i let her sit for 5yrs. rebuilt holley 600. new battery, sat for 6mo.'s. at 1st, the carb, was flooding, gas dried up in her. kept jump starting & cranking her with 2003 K1500. praise God, i pulled the hood 1st. backfire, then hibachi on top of there. looked like a gas fireplace all cranked up. got that out rebuilt carb. i think, i may have arced the distributor or i don't know. i pulled the ballast resister, during points distributor install,(mistake?). old coil new coil 12 volts on each side. no voltage to coil wire in the center: aka no spark... s.o.s.

Place point set rubbing block onto top of lobe in distributor and adjust point gap for 0.019".
Once point set closes, current passes through and field is generated inside coil.
Open point set, current stops, field collapses, and secondary spark generated when coil wire is 1/4 inch away from ground.

The coil for a points distributor needs to say "use with external resistor" on it. With points, you don't want 12 volts at the positive side of coil. I wouldn't be surprised that your points have welded themselves. Maybe you should wait for the Mallory distributor. I set the points with an allen wrench at 30 degrees dwell. Do you have a dwell meter?
