Need help with motor mounts
I've got a bit of a problem here. I need a complete set of motor mounts (engine and frame) for a 68' Camaro, but not sure what to buy. I've found many different styles (original, aftermarket, tall, short and everything in between). I have a new 383 stroker crate engine on the way and my car is sitting here with a bare frame and 3 holes per side to bolt the mounts to. I definantly need something strong, because this engine will be putting out 525hp out of the box. Would like to get something that will bolt up correctly to the original holes on the frame, clear headers without issue and fit the new engine block correctly. Any part number suggestions? Thanks in advance.
The answer is, it depends on how you equip your engine. Different engine frame brackets were used for different clearance issues. For example, the Z/28 used lower frame brackets to compensate for the higher aluminum intake manifold.
Here's some frame bracket info: Camaro Engine
As far as the motor mounts, use urethane ones, you'll separate stock vulcanized rubber mounts in no time flat. Stiffer motor mounts also help to tie the sides of the front subframe together, for less twist.

Wish I would have know that when I purchases my Energy Suspension Motor mounts... With my Dart Heads, my headers hit the floorboard...
