Hey guys,
I recently got a 1968 Camaro with a stripped interior and started dynamating the interior. The problem I have is how to remove the shifter so I can dynamat around the hump. It is a auto 350 turbo if that helps. I am completely new to working on cars so please forgive my ignorance. I just don't want to disconnect anything that will screw anything up.

It's really not that hard. There are four bolts that hold it to the floor. The shifter cable is held to the shifter using a clip that comes off with a small screwdriver. I assume there isn't any electrical connected since you said the interior is stripped, but if there is, just take a quick picture of the whole setup before you do anything so you know how it all goes back. The best thing I can suggest is "Have no fear", just dive in and take pics in case you're like me and starting to loose your memory....
