My 68 RS resto project
man thats a lot of media, looks like i'll be doing some more sanding lol. I do have a friend that owns a body shop so maybe he knows someone who does it at a good price, I just have to make a call. my biggest concern is bondo, I'm pretty sure I have more of it than I thought i really did when i started this project.
Ok, heres the latest. We got the sub-frame primed and most of the engine compartment / front end parts blasted and cleaned up ready for priming. Much more disassemble on other parts, i.e. doors / windows and glass moldings. Also all trim, lights, trunk junk, and a few other goodies. The latest pics are included in album called "3. Body Work".

Here are some parts hanging ready from priming:

That round canister thing is part of the RS hidden headlight actuator (I think that is the correct term)
The hinges look like new!

Here is the radiator panel and some of the clips. Even the little clips cleaned up nicely...

One of the headlight door assemblies

The license plate bracket, hood latch mechanism, and horns!

subframe looks a lot better with the primer on there...

here is the "before" shot...fresh after blasting

Also got the doors apart...here is the window regulator. Needs some cleanup and a few of the rollers replaced but mechanically is still sound.

Next we'll get to the priming and finish the rust repair on the rt fender. Also will be installing new suspension components and new disc brakes - hopefully will get that done next week. We've got about three weeks to get all the body and mechanical work done and get the entire car primed before we get the motor back from the machine shop. The plan is to have everything done except the paint and then put the motor in and get her running. When that is finally done we'll get busy with sanding and paint. Can't wait to see her all shiny blue again! With any luck we'll have her all together before summer!

Well, we have quite a few pieces painted now and much more work done on the doors and fenders.
Here is the door after sanding and sandblasting

Working on repairing a dent in the door.

Hood hinge after painting...gloss black. The pic doesn't do it justice - it actually looks pretty slick

The inner fender wells after blasting before primer and paint

the inner fender wells after painting - gloss black

The radiator bracket - after painting - gloss black

Next up is finishing priming then painting all the loose parts, then finishing up the front quarter panels / fenders.
