Default Mufflers or not??? That is the question

So I just added full TVS from Hotchkis, a 5 speed from Keisler, 4 wheel disc brakes and Dakota Digital new VHX analog gauges. Also added headers. I have to redo my entire exhaust now, so the questions is...... Run it with straight pipes out the back or put back in the flowmasters? Anyone have any experience running with headers and no mufflers. I drove it around the block open header and dont think it was obnoxious but was short shifting and going slow. It has a "stage II" cam (whatever that is) but I plan on adding a new cam too.

What are your thoughts/opinions?

I have Flowmaster type mufflers with full exhaust, and still rattle the neighbors windows. I don't know what your engine is putting out, but it's still going to be way loud without mufflers. Plus it depends on your local cops. No mufflers at all can = a ticket.

I would get some mufflers, as Camaro 69 stated, some cops can be ana1 about how loud a car is and can see is as a public nuisance

I am leaning towards mufflers but everyone here is trying to talk me out of it. Cops are not an issue where I live. I want it to sound good, not obnoxious. It had a brand new Flowmaster system on it before I did all the work, so I have the mufflers to use.

Thanks for your opinions. I know which way to go now

No mufflers is just seriously loud and about the only thing it is cool on is a drag car. But even that can be too loud at WOT.

The 68 I just got someone ran some kind of cherry bombs right a foot of headers and then about 2 foot more pipe. It's loud but still sounds good, I just need to run the pipes all the way back. Some times I think I would like to quiet it down some but I do have my sheriff's tag on the back to keep the law at bay for the most part.

Just get the single chamber flows if you want it loud. It will sound better that way anyway. I feel like the flowmasters give our cars that old school muscle sound. I have flowmasters dumped at the rear axle and it sounds
