Default Misc issues with my RS

Guys,
Been going over the RS pretty good. Came across a couple issues I wanted an experienced opinion on.

Powerglide:
PG has been rebuilt, has no leaks and shifts fine on normal driving. Two things I noticed that I wanted opinions on are:

Car has no kickdown linkage at all, I know there isn't any on the carb side. I haven't gotten any ramps to crawl under and see if the bracketry on the PG is resident.
Car does not have the vaccum modulator hooked up, until I can get her on a lift and see if the modulator is even on there. I think I can feel it on there.
[ul]My questions here are the modulator from best I can figure is to adjust shift points. For example under heavy throttleit would hold first longer than under light throttle.

I think I'll have to do something with the kickdown, nobody makes a direct fit for the rods as best I can find. I think that may be the more important of the two issues. If someone can school me on that I'd appreciate it. I am not afraid to dig in and get this done right, myself if at all possible.

Carb/Timing/Drivability[/ul]
[ul]Car was running pretty rough, and under a heavy accelleration it would bog right out of the gate. Figured timing was the cause, I adjusted it and got it to what I think is about 30 BTDC. It was very far off and the dizzy wasn't very secure the vaccum advance was plugged as well. Its reconnected now. She is HEI and may have a mild cam. That cleaned up the bog for the most part. There might be some more adjustments needed since the timing tab has been painted over a bunch and is impossible to read. Anyone have an HEI 350 that could give me a ballpark and let me know I am close?[/ul]
[ul]I am limited on my carbs due to the spread bore manifold. It has an older Q-Jet on there, it idles OK but probably needs a build. I think the remaining out of the gate bog could be attributed to the carb. [/ul]
[ul]I'd just appreciate any ideas you guys might have. There is alot of knowledge here and me being away from old iron makes me a little weak here for now.

Thanks again!!

Dave[/ul]
