Looking for information on one of our old cars...Daytona Yellow 69...big block/auto...vin # 124379n649158...sold it a a project a few years ago cowl tag hidden vin
If it was recent you may what to say where and when it was sold. I would just do City/town and year sold. Having the vin typed out is a good start. If you are really serious about this you can hire a private eye. They have access to information the general public does not. As long as the title was switched over they should be able to get you a name and if it is registered an address. Some places have flat rates for tracking down a car. Would not hurt to call and ask.
Most states will clean up titles on unregistered car after so many years of not being registers. It makes sense, so many cars get scraped and if an insurance company was not involved the state would have no idea. This is why many titles get lost. Car sits in a barn for 10 years and without registration the State throw the title away and if the owner looses their copy there is no record of the car and now it will need to be retitled. I only say this because if a private eye cannot find anything that does not mean the car is gone.
Thank you for the suggestions....we sold the car about 6 years ago to Waterloo,Iowa....no motor or transmission....solid body but needed restoration;we are not looking to get it back but just interested to see if it ever got finished and back on the road.
