Default Looking for this car

My Dad built (restored) this 68 in the mid 80’s. It was an absolute showpiece when he was done. He was forced to sell it after just a few years. He passed away recently and I am trying to track down the car. Long shot, I know. I would just like to see it again - either in person or pictures. Was last seen in Oklahoma City area in 1988 or so. Had a 396 (number don’t match). Paint color is Autumn Maple Firemist. Block painted the same color Needle in a haystack, but want to try.

Welcome and good luck in your quest.
If you have the VIN and are friendly with a police person, you might ask them to look in finding where she's located. Or hire a lawyer, private detective.
Nice Camaro and correct year.

NiteFlyer,

Again, I hope you have the VIN, or can get it from the DMV or family records.
With that VIN in hand, I would try for a CarFax report (or ANY similar deal), to see who the owner(s) are lately. The full tracking reports are not free, but I think it would be your best bet.
Happy hunting!

Unfortunately we don’t have a VIN. 😕

So I’ll keep poking around the Internet - might get lucky at some point.

I see that Coors Light sticker on the fuel filter... nice touch your dad did. That is defiantly something my father would do. Also a long shot, but could use that as a search.

lol - yeah, I remember when he put it on there. He thought the colors matched well. I figured it was a tribute to all of the Coors Lights he went through while building it. 😁

NiteFlyer,

Check with any insurance companies that your Dad may have used, including AAA, and yeah, the DMV. You will probably need to sweet-talk the help there, and maybe call back a time or three to other workers if the first one does not help. You may also locate a Previous Owner who had the car before your Dad, if you know where the car was living back then.
Good Luck!
P.S.
Do any old pix show the car's license plate?
