Looking for header help
I have a 69 base model. 350 block with angle plug heads, Power steering with 700r4 trans. The headers that use to fit the car well were full length . I went to the angle plug heads and now I have issues. Number 3 plug hit the header, I heated the tube up and tried to make a relief for it but I still burn wires. Other plug wires are starting to turn white from excessive heat as well. Anyone know of a good option for me
Here are some suggestions for you.Have you tried a set Accell "shorty" spark plugs .I have a 1979 Z-28 RS Camaro Pro-Touring car with a 377 supercharged small block. That runs 15 Lbs of boost .With a set of Doug thorley "big Tube headers. So I know about heat. I use a set of MSD 8MM spark plug wires I use a section of a product called "Thermo-sleeve on my #5 cylinder because its very tight fit And for my starter wiring as well .I have had no issues since. Good luck to you.
I use 1 3/4" hooker super comps (2131 I believe) on my angle head SB 68 Camaro. I also use NGK plugs with a wire sleeve on #4 and 5 cylinder. burnt 1 wire to my carelessness in 6 years
