Looking at getting a 67 vert.. Need some help
Take a look at this picture. The guy tells me it is just a plastic pc that needs to be replaced. Is it and where do you get it if so..
Sorry for the short message but I need to make an informed purchase and time is running out on the car.

The one in my original 67 is metal and Rick's Camaro is listing it as Steel. I think the labor to install this will be much higher then the cost of the parts. Maybe there was a plastic aftermarket one when the car was restored? I do think its funny when people talk about the price of the parts when selling a car. I saw one guy advertise his locked up motor and just needing $125 ring and bearing kit. The only people that would believe that are people that would have no idea how to do it. Car guys know your probably looking at a $2500 repair if you do the work yourself.

Have you had the car checked out by anyone that knows these cars? If the car has been restored then the quality of the restoration would greatly effect the value of the car.
Edit:
I am at work so I can not check, that is what the VIN number plate is attached too? Maybe it is some kind of cover? Sure looks like plastic I am lost, sorry
If that is metal and ripped like that I would avoid that car like it spent a day in the ocean.

Honestly if it is a plastic cover why replace it? It is not original and it will be considered cheesy by most Camaro guys. Just remove it. You really want to have the only 67 Camaro with a plastic dash. Adding plastic to a 60's muscle car is like touching up a Picasso to make it look more normal.
Rick's carries just about everything that is available for a first gen and it is not listed and a ebay search found only steel. This might have been available in the 80's and 90's but it does not appear to be available now. Maybe because they crack?
Again a heads up, I think you are focusing on the wrong things. With a rag top if the restoration is not done correctly the car can have a lot of issues. Making sure the car is stiff, square and goes down the road absolutely straight are supper critical. A car that has comedic issues can easily be repaired. A amateur restoration that is not done correctly can render a car un-repairable, meaning it would cost more to repair then the finished car is worth.
