I agree with you. I don't like those high ones either.

This one is stock height, 2". It looks like the actual Z hood scoop, as it is from a repo Z factory fit hood.

 

It should look great on it, especially after you weld that one on. No more cracking to think about when you're done. It would be easy to make the cowl induction work on it if you wanted to, or at least draw air from the cowl.
