Default Length/Width Induction Scoop...

I have a favor to ask. As this is my first post, and I don't have a Camaro, I can imagine some won't want to bother with me.

I have a 61 Chevy bubbletop that has a fiberglass induction scoop on the hood. I am starting the process of redoing the car. It is cracking at the attachment location.

I think the best way to remedy that would be to cut off the induction cowl from a reproduction metal hood and weld it on.

Could someone here with a 69.with an induction hood measure from the back of the scoop to where it disappears into the front of the hood? As well, measure the width.

Much appreciated.

Thanks

I have a LS3 crate engine waiting to be put in with a 4L70e transmission. Going to be a long project.

Looks like no takers yet on getting those dimensions to me.

I just looked at your Video. That Camaro sounds good.

Just for fun, here is a
to a video of my 56 back in 2006. This was when I had a small blower on a 350 in it. I made it to show while I was trying to sell the engine.

I miss that sound.

I'll take some measurements for you and post them later.

Thanks...not necessary now. I got the answer on another forum.

I have purchased the repo hood, and have the induction scoop cut out. There's a little more grinding and fitting to do, but will be welding in before long.

COOL! Very nice job. Sounds good. Radical 50's custom.

Mine was originally done as a mild 50's custom. When I changed the engine and interior, I took off the lake pipes, and tear drops.

Fun, but expensive, hobby.

Seems I'm a little late for you (I just got in from measuring it). It looks like it's going to work out for you well. I personally don't like most of the "aftermarket" cowl look-a-likes because they're to tall for my taste. If you're running a tunnel ram or blower set-up I'd much rather see those sticking out of the hood than an abnormally large cowl hood. To each his own I guess.
Post a pic of the finished project please. I'm sure it's going to look great on it.
