Default Kinda bummed out......straight 6 vs SS

Well, i just posted a post in the new member section about my first camaro (1969).

(Cliff notes)

Dad bought it and 4 other camaros 20 years ago and never did anything with it. One of the cars was fixed up and sold years later, one other was so rusted out he salvaged parts and scrapped the rest, one is a 68RS and is still sitting behind the barn rusting away, and this 69 SS i now have.

Well it has SS badges, hood, steering wheel badge ect ect. But i noticed today when i drug it onto the car trailer, it had a 10 bolt and front drums, and a PG.......

Got the title and ran the number.......

123379......

I knew it was too good to be true! Looks like this is just a plain jane 69 6 banger peg leg camaro that someone threw stuff on. It will still make a nice driver. Wont be worth much but that is a moot point because its dads car and will never get sold.

So is there anything special about my new project or is it just a base plain jane car?

(Will try and post some pics)

(Ok...that didnt work let me try this)

You can "beat on it" and not worry about devalue the car.But just don`t claim its a real SS if you ever decide to sell the car.

Now you're free to do whatever you want to it without worrying about devaluing it.

I don't see a down side, at the end of the day you still own a 69 Camaro. I'll take the 68RS.

Hell yes, build ya a great hotrod and have fun!
I never did find out what my old '69 came from the factory with for sure,it was plain jane with a 10 bolt and front drums when I got it,no power steering or brakes, pretty much plain as they get but it had a 327 4 speed in it with a rod through the block. I stuffed a built 427 Rat in it and a 12 bolt posi and had a ball with it.

You know.....you guys are right! If it was a real SS car i would SO feel obligated to build car correct and baby her. But because it has minimal (69 camaro) worth i can make it into a dz302 car or go 427 or whatever. I can go with whatever color, options or paint scheme i want. With this not being a special option car, whatever engine, performance, or aesthetics i do to the car will be what I want...not what the car came with from the factory.

I just know for 20 years i always thought this car was an SS so thats what i thought i was getting. But this is mom and dads last old 60's muscle car and it will never get sold, so the copo, ss, z28 or rs value is a moot point to me.

yeah! Your right, i will build it like i want and enjoy it for years to come!

thanks fellas!

But the SS stuff has to go because i dont want to sport around looking like i have something i dont.

the camaro in the pic is what i want it to look like, the stance, paint and overall look.

you dont want the 68 rs....it is a rust bucket...junk! In my opinion its worth nothing but the title and parts. I will post a pic of it this weekend! But the subframe is spotless redone and has a nice new shiny engine....i would like that!
