Default Jacking Locations

Just wondering where is the best or safest location to jack up my '69 and place jack stands. I know corvettes are very particular when it comes to proper jacking locations, don't know about the 1st Gen Camaro.

Thanks in advance!

If you want the suspension unloaded, then the safest place is under the subframes. In front it's anywhere along the flat portion, and in the rear it's just in front of the front spring perch. If you're not wanting to let the rear axle hang free, then it's better to use the axle on the jack stands out back.

In the back, jack up from the center section and place the stands under the axle tubes at each end. In front, you can jack up under the crossmember, and put the stands under the lower control arms. If you're worried about dinging the crossmember, put a block of wood between it and the jack.
