Hey guys... would this work. Tie one end of cable to the cap and feed the cable through one of the holes and put a stopper at the end. The cable would slide through the hole as you take the cap on and off.

 

Should work but you're loosing 1 screw holding the neck out of 4. Also the cap will still hang around and may mark the rear plate...

 

Not sure if it will work . The cable needs to be around the inner lip of the gas cap to allow the cap to screw on and the rope might get in the way. Also the screw from the cable that goes through the hole to hold the cap on must be through that hole or it will prevent the cap from sitting in place

 

Mike is right. Cap won't be able to turn to lock. Might work with a non turning cap (keyed)
