Ignition on start up

Ignition on start up
I have a 68 Camaro, new crate engine 350, 290 hp. It runs fine, however; on initial start up I have to pump the accelerator several times before it ignites. The timing is fine. My question is......will adding an MSD ignition coil help and or increase turn over on initial start up?
