Default IDentification

I have a 1968 Camaro. When i purchased the car the cowl or trim tag was missing. The VIN verifies the car was a V8 car built in 68 in Van nuys. Any suggestions on how to possibly decode the car? Car is a multileaf small block 4 speed car with the close ratio saginaw steering box with std. interior option. 12 bolt rear end- non original 350 with a saginaw 4 speed

Default RE: IDentification

Sorry to say but without the original trim tag it is impossible. The car is nearly 40 yrs old any partcould have been swapped out at one time or another. The 68 is one of the hardest cars to verify even with the trim tag. Take that away impossible. I'd suggest not fretting over what the car was and either enjoy it the way it is or mod the hell out of it. P.S. There is one shot there may be a buildsheet under the gas tank since it is a van nuys built car.
