How would these mods effect value?
I have a bone stock, all original '67 Camaro in very good, even excellent condition overall.
My restoration shop is recommending a 4 link suspension on the rear with a Ford 9" rear end. Just seems that a Ford rear end would irk the Chevy enthusiasts?
Also wants to update the front suspension with tubular A-arms in including a power brake conversion with all 4 brakes being Wilwood disc brakes.
Coil overs on all 4 corners.
Question is - on an all stock, all original 67 in great condition, how would all of this affect value, collectability and resale?
Additional: it's a base coupe, 327 210 HP WOO HOO! 210 HP!!! A tad different from my 650HP Z06. Will post some pics. The paint is decent, it was repainted in the 80's. Either a mediocre pro or a very good amateur painted it. Paint is cracked in some places, at best a 10 footer on the paint, maybe 15'??
Has some nice options that I've never seen. A bucket-bench seat, deluxe interior, even power steering. Manual drum brakes on all 4 corners.
So - given that it is all original and unmolested, would updating just the suspension to tubular A-Arms, coil over shocks, 4 link rear end suspension, 9-inch rear end and 4 wheel Wilwood 6 pistons up front, 4 piston in the rear disc brakes help or hurt the value and collectability??
OH - Forgot to add, I'll be adding a factory duplicate AC (I live in S. Florida) and a cruise control.
NOTE: I will eventually do some internal mods to the 327, bringing it up to at least 350 HP, but keep the original parts so I can put it back to stock. 210hp is just a joke, face it.

I'd say it depends on whether you plan to keep it or might sell it.
Those mods would make it a nicer driver but it's a shame to do it to a nice survivor IMO. I can't see wasting money on a 9"rear end unless you plan to go a lot more than 350hp and drag race it. You didn't say if it's a stick or automatic but given a mild engine even with a stick unless you do a lot of dump the clutch burnouts that stock 10 bolt will be just fine. As for all the fancy suspension mods they're pretty unnecessary for a car to be a nice cruiser if you don't plan on road racing it around a lot, given you have a hopped up Z06 for that sort of action I would just leave the Camaro pretty much stock and enjoy it for the classic car that it is,just put some quality modern shocks on it and maybe a front disc brake upgrade and cruise it.
Just my 2cts.

It all depends on the "crowd" that you are trying to sell the car to.The pure " stock" people wouldn`t like it. But the " modified" crowd would be interested .It all depends on the quality of work .
my $.02... it's your car. if you intend to keep it, then make it fun to drive. i just finished swapping parts onto my RS like you described, i.e. disc brakes and tubular control arms. the car is WAY more fun to drive now, and i wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
also, with all due respect to your car, there aren't many buyers looking for a stock, 210hp chevy camaro, and there are a ton of them, so it's not like you are ripping apart a z28. while you are going to a resto-mod sort of feel, you are only changing things that make the car better, so my opinion is do it.
