How to tell if its what they say it is?
I have been looking around at camaro's for the last yr or so...and I have found a few that arent in bad shape, but would like to know for sure(if possible) if the car is a real RS or just one that ppl slap parts on to clone?
any help is greatly apprishiated

The easiest way to spot a fake is the tail lights. The RS has separate backup lights on the rear valance below the bumper, the standard ones have backup lights in the center of the tail light. If they just wanted hideaway headlamps, thats easy to spot. If they did the valance too its a little tougher and you'll probably need the options from the trim tag, you can come here and decode them to find out if its a true RS or not...

RS will have unique headlight switch for one; look for 2 air inlets on the side of the headlight switch. Also, the vac hoses will be running from the headlight switch thruogh the firewall. Even though most of the vac systems for the headlight covers have been abandoned, the original lines and switches should still be there. I have been cleaning up my rs and have purposely left all these original parts in their "as found" condition, right down to the dust. My car also has a somewhat rare option for headlight washers. The washer pump has an additional liquid port for headlight washers. I believe this was an RS option only.
