Default Hood Hinges,latches...Color Help

I sand blasted and "rattled can" my hood hinges and latches with Eastwood..."Zinc Phosphate" and I installed them. However I feel like they don"t look much different or {worth the time & work}. Than they did before when they where just plain flat black rattle caned. I'm flirting with the ideal of taking them back off and rattle can them again with. Eastwood Detail Gray to make them look differently.
Is this a bad ideal? Has others done this themselves? If so do I need to or did you "reSandblast" them or simply rattle can over the "Zinc Phosphate" ?????
