the carb isnt new so it might be an older one. im not afraid of holleys its just every one in the family that has had one it was junk. we have edelbrocks on almost every car and they almost been just put on and go. the 2 barrel 2GC's on our 6x2 set up is amazing at how we just put the on the intake ran gas and they been perfect without having to do anything to them and they run perfect.

I hear ya. In the late 80's, if you were anybody, you had a Holley. But it was well known in the circle I hung out with that you had better not backfire! At the track, everyone who ran a Holley had a spare power valve in their tool box for a reason lol!

The Edelbrocks were the same as the Carters (I always assumed Edelbrock bought them, but I'm not sure), and the one thing you really had to watch for is dirt getting into them or they instantly became big paper weights. I learned that one the hard way. From what I remember, the Carters were great for bottom end torque, but didn't do much at the higher rpm's which is why a lot of the racers didn't use them.

Rochester was by far a way better Carb than the Carters, but not too many people knew how to tune them, and the Carters were a lot easier to adjust... less parts lol!

Have a 670 street avenger, has been trouble free for me. Only complaint is the cheap gasket used for the set screw for the float level. Quarter turn and its falling apart.
