When I went home for thanksgiving I was able to reinstall the driver side window crank ****, after driving that car around for 8 or so years without it.

I also tried greasing that part on the door, but it didn't improve the sound at all.

I've got my dad to agree to a list of parts that we will purchase together and hopefully I'll be able to work on it while i'm home for christmas.

This is my other long term project. I'm rebuilding the engine now.

I don't think I've ever seen a 400 FOUR,I've seen a few (very few) 350 FOURs and a friend had one I rode once.
The 350 FOURs didn't have much grunt but they were sewing machine smooth,I had a couple 350 twins and they had better pull but were pretty buzzy especially on the highway.

There is a huge following for the 400F. I would say it's only beat by the early (1969-1972) cb750's in terms of desirability and cult following. I have a 1970 Cl350 that's my daily rider (4 miles each way to work). I also have a cb550 that has some day 2 chopper customization.

I worked on the camaro two more times, and made some progress. I wired in the the new stereo but have not installed it in the dash yet. There was huge mess of wires under the dash, a lot of which were dead ends, leftovers, and bad/messy connections. So while I was working on it last time I pulled up the carpet and basically had the entire interior empty and cleaned up the wiring.

I am considering getting blue carpet (my dad did black because he thought it was more practical). However for now I'm gona focus on getting the stereo done and the car back together.

I do have a few questions.

1. The stereo only worked when i wired it to the ignition on/off terminal (meaning it is always on when the car is on). It didn't work when I wired it to the accessory terminal. Not sure what's up with that? Is this normal? At any rate it would be an easy fix later since the terminal is accessible.

2. The shifter (auto) that's in the center console has a light that illuminates the PRN321 indicator. There are also lights in the aftermarket voltage, oil pressure, & temp gauges. I would like to wire these lights to be on the same circuit as the main gauges, so it all gets dim in unison when you use the dimmer switch. Has anyone done this and can offer advice?

3. Greasing the cam on the driver side door didn't do anything to quiet it down. Has anyone replaced this part for this reason? I'm curious if I need the cam, the arm, or both to quiet it down. This is a pet peeve of mine because it makes the car sound like a beater when I pull up in the lot. Lol

I have the stereo installed and the car all back together.

Still looking for a solution to the creaky door, I feel like this would be a common problem?

Also any source for replacement gasket for gas cap?

Have not seen the gas cap gasket separate. Maybe buy a new repop one and harvest the gasket from it since yours is painted body color

First off that is not the correct gas cap for a 67 RS. Are you looking for the correct setup of the gasket for the plain jane gas cap. Search Google for “1967 Camaro RS gas cap” All the Camaro sights have them and ebay.



As for the door you should rebuild the hinge. Right now the tension roller is causing issues the brass bushing are not too far behind. See the shiny part that rolls as you open and close the door. It is sitting at an angle because it worn out. .
