YEah! That's what got me into the trouble I'm already in LOL! You know, I just HAD to have that solid lifter cam, even though I ended up settling with a measly 540 lift, doesn't open up till 3000 rpm and doesn't shut down till 6800 rpm...and I just HAD to have that single intake manifold... and I just HAD to have.... You get the point

I don't know if I built this for the street or strip LOL! and yeah... a mini tub did enter my mind at one time

Seems the only thing I don't HAVE enough of though, is time behind the wheel

But all that's about to change

Did yours used to be a 6 cyl. car? Just curious about your user name connection, if any.

Ha,
Well, for starters I'll be 45 this August and my Dad is an old timer from the mountains of St. Maries Idaho. Yes, he was actually born in a one room log cabin and you guessed it, they used an old wood burning stove to not only cook with, but also to keep warm with. Them stove bolts are pretty tough, but look like crap...

Did I mention my Dad is into old Volvo's and I've busted many knuckles tearing them apart and puttin em back together... Anyway, he's never thought too highly of GM and I think I embarrassed him when I brought home my first car, a 66 El Camino. My second was a 71 Nova RS. Both were sub standard in his opinion ;-)

Anyway, when my Dad came to Michigan to visit me and saw my Camaro for the first time, it reminded him of a rusty stove bolt... and the legend began with a the idea of an old rusty stove bolt from his childhood and that tough six banger nobody cared for, but everybody loved anyway.

Dad's a tough old bird with a great sense of humor... He even raced Indy cars for a bit. Funny, when I had the old 350 in there with the 4 speed, I could never get a third gear chirp... Dad got good third gear rubber and a nice chirp in fourth.... said it was all in the clutch. I never did get that heel toe thingy down as well as him. Ehh.... but it's just a pile of stove bolts isn't it :-)

As Paul Harvey used to say, "An there's the rest of the story" :-)

All in all I'm really happy though

no need to roll the lip just use adjustable rear shackles and lift the **** an inch or 2!!! thats what i did.

I sure like your final choice in rims! Those "Halibrand" style clones are a very nice combination of new and old styling. They've got the right look on a 1st gen without looking too new fangled.
