Default help to identify from numbers on the 69 block

Have a 1969 chevy block need help to identify from numbers on the block..VO3030KT..3970010..161237968..The block was said to be a 302 out of a 1969 Z28

A 69 Z28 block would have had the last two digits of the engine code number listed as of "DZ". The block casting number is the same as what was used in the Z28, but it was also for 327 and 350's. Here' a link that give you more information about what you're looking for.

If by chance the last three digit of the engine code would be "CKT", that would be from a 1972 Z28 with a TH400 transmission.

Those would be the numbers stamped on the top of the deck in front of the head on the passenger side correct?

Yes, the CRG website link shows a picture of engine code and gives a detailed explanation of how to decipher it.
