Default HEADERS-short or long?

I have a small block 67. I am putting 2" drop spindles on the front. What headers would be best, the shorties or long tube. I do not want to drag them into every parking lot or speed bump. The exhaust they will be mated to is Flow Master 2 1/2 inch system. Any heads up I would appreciate before I buy the wrong headers.
thanks for your time
