Got 1967 Camaro Ca car need some answers to some questions
Ok Here is where I am starting
Car is in perfect shape only 47 k and was owned and driven in Palm springs only original owner
The code plate states it is a true RS/SS
Info I got
the trans started to leak
It has been sitting in a garage its dusty but the paint is bright and vinyl top is in great shape
was running it once a week til it would not start
Suggestion on first steps
Any additional tips would be great
Here is what I wanted to do
New tank or cleaned and dipped ??
New rubber fuel lines and Carb rebuilt or New
Is it difficult to rebuild a carb?
Flush the brake system
Good cleaning flush product
Replace plugs , points rotor -cap
What plugs it has autolite 26
Add marvelous mystery oil to cylinders and hand crank
Good idea?
Needs dry rotted front end rubber replaced
good idea not to wear out metal parts ?
looks like a very small little radiator corrosion
So i was thinking to put a 3 or 4 core in with radiator lines
good idea or not ?
Then option on transmission rebuilt the one in the car or buy replacement
Here is the odd thing about the car
The tag plate says it left Van Nuys with a Muncie 4 speed manual
It has a automatic I assume it is a TH350
But what is odd it has a 68 center console with the horseshoe shifter marked Fisher, like the rest of the interior
But under the dash there is no mount for a clutch pedal or post where it use to mount next to the brake It has a original issued single brake assembly
Could the car have been fitted with the auto trans at selling dealership
I will be thankful for any advice tips

Welcome, Hodads, to the Club
Nice find, very nice.
Good suggestions, especially MMO in cylinders to lube rings.
Fresh battery helps.
Remove spark plugs as I believe Autiolite 26 may be a tapered seat ('72 and later head) verses compression ring (original design).
THM350('69 and later) was a swapout later as only Powerglide was the only auto trans in '67 - check pictures of pan for trans ID - THM350 is square pan with corner chopped off. Since the trans is not original, you might swap it, or let them overhaul it, your choice.
You should visit www.camaros.org and learn more and in the Forums, there is an address to download an AIM (Assembly Instruction Manual), a Fisher body manual, and a Service manual.

Great score although I would question the 47K original mileage with things not being all original. Did you buy from the original owner and talk with them? Stranger things have happened of course but I can't see changing things out at such low mileage. Might be 147K,even that is super low mileage for a 50 year old car. Have you checked to see if the engine is original? It would be a rare L48 350 if it's an original SS car and engine, the SS Camaro was the only car in Chevy's line up to get the then new 350 engine in '67. Just a '67 L48 engine is a great find by itself.
Get some pics up when you can,I know we'd all love to see it!

Only '67 SS's & Z/28's got the partial VIN stamped on engine block at the two places.
The rest of them did not have stamped VIN's, just engine code on pad.
Yes, check brake pedal pad for 147K mile wear. 47K mile wear would look like new, almost.
