Good or Bad??
So i just found out my Camaro that I thought had a 350 in it, only has a 327. But the 327 is matching numbers with the car. So, should i be sad about it not having a 350? What is the difference between the 2? Thanks!

i looked at a 79 once that had a 327... asked around and massey said hed rather have a 327 than a 350 (cant quite remember why) but massey, craby, and cam69 are imo 3 of the smartest guys on the forum (when it comes to camaros) if i have a serious problem or want a really good answer i ask them

You have a matching numbers engine, which is a great thing to have for higher car value. The one obvious difference is a 350 has 23 c.i. more. But the 327 has a shorter stroke, so it can wind the rpm's higher than a 350. Yours was a 210 h.p. model, with a 2 barrel. But from your other post, some things have been changed/upgraded. The 327 is no slouch, or at least has the potential to not be one. Back in the 60's, 327 Vette engines were putting out 350 h.p. with hydraulic lifters, and 365 with solid. Be very happy with the engine you're "stuck" with, I would be. You can always do more to it if you want in the future.

i would be jumping for joy. i love the 327 chevy. i have one in my 68 thats to the specs of the 350 horse and that car aint no slouch. it revs quick and has quite a bit of power than what you would think.

The 327 is one of Chevy's greatest motors bro! The DZ302 was made from a 327 block as well. 350's were great too, but the 327 was a classic high revving motor that ran great and rarely had problems. And like "69 Camaro" said, numbers matching is a VERY good thing when it comes to value! Keep that motor and enjoy.

Most these vintage 327's were 2 bolt main, small journal engines, so if you try to get too much out of them they will break. But....if you stick to the basic street hot rodding upgrades it will serve you well and as was stated they really rev! Even if you do another engine at some point, having the original engine is never a bad thing so hang on to it.
