Found '69 RS/Z28
A couple years ago while doing my monthly drive-about looking for old metal I came across a car I thought was a fake. Admittedly I have never had a 1st gen Camaro and thought a Z car was the top of the line 1st gen. I saw the hide away headlights and thought this guy just put z badges on the car but to my surprise its original.
The car is a '69 hugger orange w/ white rally stripes RS/Z28 and is all there. Its sitting next to a shack in the middle of a Louisiana swamp. When I got home and realized what this really was I have spent the last two years going back every month trying to buy the car. I have tried everything I know to get this car but the owner keeps saying hes going to restore it one day and it still sits rotting away. Once I took 10k in cash and was refused. I have never had this hard a time getting a car before and would like some suggestions.
Also the car has a rubber front bumper is this rare or did all RS/Z's come with this option?
Does anyone have some production numbers for the Z's?
69 RS/Z28
Hugger Orange w/ white rally stripes
302
4 speed
rubber front bumper
Thanks

All you can do is keep close tabs on the car. Maybe someday the owner will need the money. Tell him you're going to bring the car back to it's original glory, and he can come visit it once in a while.
Here are the 69 RPO production numbers: http://www.chevy-camaro.com/chevy-ca....asp?year=1969
That front bumper was called an Endura Bumper, and came on 12,650 of the total 243,085 69's built. That's 5%, so yeah kinda rare.

I keep going back and back and back, I must have this car its very frustrating to watch it just sit there. Endura Bumper... Did not know it had a name. This weekend Im taking my 08 aluminum bass boat to this guy to see if he wants to trade. I don't know what else to do money does not work I've offered as much as 20k for it and was still turned down. Thanks
