Finally got a 69 and I stole it!
yes it is man. thats kinda why I never really pushed it, I knew if I tried she would be gone. Moving forward, once the engine fires I'll be hanging the front end back on and starting the wiring. as soon as she has lights I will be rolling.... somewhere.... anywhere!! I want to drive that thing.
Don't say "engine fires"
lol, I see your point Bud. And she did finally "start up" yesterday. dont smoke, doesnt knock and doesnt leak any fluids so Im extremely pleased so far. Gotta get a brake line made up to go to the rear then I can put the master cylinder and brake booster on. then I will put the driveshaft in and maybe move her around a little. Bob is coming over next wednesday so we might hang some sheetmetal.
everybody feel free to stop by and lend a hand if youre in the neighborhood.
as soon as I figure it out, I will post the video I have of it running for the first time. anyone on facebook can see it on my page.

Nice find indeed, good job on the restore.
Don't worry about the salvage title, let the next owner worry about it, even if it's your son.
You might be able to either turn the rod around or swap door lock rods per side to get the correct location. Yes, the panels are '68 Deluxe.
Wire the new alt as a 3-wire, better control of power demanded. Run the sense wire to the fuse panel ACC spade, for an experiment.
You might find you may want to connect it to another source, so keep the length long before making it permanent.
You can assemble the front end as one piece, just requires another helper and slow going to prevent paint scratches.
Since you replaced the dash, you might want to lay in the windshield for fit.
Any thoughts on replacing the body mounts?
I used Moroso's solid alum mounts and had no problems.
Use antiseize on all your threads, you'll appreciate it later in life.
Overall, you've done a good job and a BZ is definitely well deserved, USN compliment BZ = Bravo Zulu = Atta Boy, good job.

and yea, Slick.... I finally figured it out and its uploading now. and I sent you a request.
in the meantime, here are a few pics of my New Steering Column, Wheel and billet levers. its a long story but I bought a column for a chevelle that 69 found for me on eBay, it turned out to be a POS so I found a place called SteeringColumnsGalore... they refurbish original columns with everything new and take your column as a core. I got the correct column (except I added tilt
) for $325 and its really nice. bolted right in...

and a new coupling since its a tilt column and a new FireWall Gasket and Rag Joint...
