so, we got the engine in Monday, first problem I had was my new Headers wont go on because of the power steering so I had to put the old ones back on. We got the core support and radiator in and plumbed yesterday morning. then spent all day trying to get it started. Not getting any spark from the HEI. rechecked the 12v input to the cap about 50 times. we have the power coming straight from the battery and we are using a remote starting switch so theres not much that figures into the equation here. we had the coil and the module tested and they were fine. tested the input coil and cap last night. all checks out. probably gonna end up just buying another new one because at this point I dont know wtf else to do. anyway heres a couple pics...

Well it all looks good other than those rusty headers. Looks like the water pump is almost hitting the fan. Anyway to dimple the new headers so they clear?

actually, thats an optical illusion, theres exactly 2" between the water pump and the back side of the electric fan motor.

and the headers were obviously for a Camaro without Power Steering, theres no amount of dimpling you could do to make it fit. the old ones arent dimpled and there an 1/8" clearance. they are just wrong, plain and simple. yea I hate rusty but screw it, as log as they dont leak I dont gaf anymore.

You've done good, Scooch! Isn't it great that you decided to keep it?

yes it is man. thats kinda why I never really pushed it, I knew if I tried she would be gone. Moving forward, once the engine fires I'll be hanging the front end back on and starting the wiring. as soon as she has lights I will be rolling.... somewhere.... anywhere!! I want to drive that thing.
