A few engine numbers to consider
I had to do a few measurements during my 350 rebuild and came up with the following weights:
350 Cast Iron block (empty) = 155 lbs.
Cast Iron heads (complete) = 45 lbs./ea.
Aluminum heads (complete) = 25 lbs./ea.
Crank = 50 lbs.
Aluminum intake manifold ('86 Vette) = 15 lbs.
I'm simply calculating weight advantage that my vette motor has over a standard 350 engine and I thought someone else might need these numbers.
