Fathers 67 Camaro SS
So Ive had this car for a few years now, my father passed away and I received it. He bought the car before he left for boot camp for the Marines in late 1966 (I believe) and when he got out before leaving for Vietnam he bought a 1967 Camaro SS brand new off the show room floor. He told the salesman his situation about him leaving and the guy kept the car for him at the dealership in the back and when my dad came back after 3 years, the car was there waiting for him. He got the car and put 86,XXX miles on it until 1988 when I was born and then never drove the car again. The car is all original to the best of my knowledge and still sits with a little over 86,000 miles.
He died 9 years ago and like I said before I got the car and didnt touch it for about 2 years. I finally started messing with the car and got it running, rebuilt the engine, well cleaned up the guts of the engine mostly, put it all back together and ran it, got it driving again for the most part and now it sits again. Ive only put around 10 miles on the car in almost 10 years now and Im stuck! Its a hassle money wise as Im sure you all know and I dont know where to pick back up. Im trying to find interior mostly for the car right now and then trim for the outside later on and the hide away head lights I need to find. So basically Im new here and just telling you the story of my car and am just looking for help on where to find stuff for this car without spending an extraordinary amount of money of parts if I can help it. Any help you people could give me would be greatly appreciated and forgive me in advance if I ask a ridiculous amount of questions!
Thanks

the internet is your friend when it comes to ordering parts. type in what you want. there will be a whole list of places to buy from. check their review and prices.

Thank you Everett, I appreciate it! I have a fair amount of knowledge about cars old and new I would say. Ive worked as a mechanic on cars since high school and then around 8 years ago started in the offshore drilling game as a mechanic too so older cars is about all I can work on anymore being that I dont really use that knowledge too much anymore. Anyways, Im wondering about a headliner for the car and what would be the best way to go for headliner. It doesnt look like it would be that bad to replace but ive been wrong before. Any tips of where I might be able to get some at? The car is the Bolero Red I think and I guess Ill just go back to what it had in it. Its the vinyl headliner now and its turned to complete crap after all the years, is there better stuff out there than vinyl? Thanks again for the help
Years ago, I bought a JC Whitney cloth headliner, same design as OE, and if not, oh well, its inside on the roof.
I replaced it by the following:
1. remove old liner, take down the moldings about the circumference and remove sail panels.
2. Remove rods as they snap out of plastic holders ion the middle of roof an the rod needs bent a little for removing from structure. Make reference of each rod in its original position in roof making sure rod returns to its original position.
3. Lay new liner in sun couple hours, the longer, the better, before install.
4. Remove old material from rods. They are zinc coated, but a light cover of paint helps, even clear coat.
Slide in rods into new liner.
6. Install rods/liner into roof
7. Start from the middle and pull liner around the edge and hook material onto 'dinosaur teeth' - my thumbs still ache.
8. the idea is work from the middle out to the corner working in removing wrinkles. Patience needed here.
9. Replace sail panels and molding and dome light(s).
10 Enjoy an adult drink.

I found a complete set for roof and sail panels and stuff for not a bad price and im going to get the carpet at the same time too. Camarocentral.com looked like they had pretty decent prices. I looked at LED lighting all the way around too but Im unsure about that. ive never seen one with it in person. I appreciate the help though, Ill try and do it myself and if I mess it up Ill start over. I plan to have a couple beverages after the process is done!
